The SCA 290 pop-top roof for the VW T5 and T6 offers superior sleeping comfort with a slatted frame and disc springs, a modern two-tone design of the fabric bellows, and a breathtaking view of the surrounding landscape thanks to the Open-Sky panoramic function.
Roof Shell
The fiberglass-reinforced plastic shell is usually manufactured using modern injection molding. This process results in components with a high-quality surface – the roof looks impressive even without paint. Flexible solar modules can be easily mounted on the smooth surface, with virtually no change to the vehicle's height. The foam core inside the roof shell provides insulation.
Fabric Bellows and Windows
The SCA 290 pop-top roof differs from other variants in several ways. The standard Open-Sky panoramic fabric bellows are made of polyester and feature a two-tone design (grey and red) – a solid grey version is also available upon request.
Sleeping Area
Comfort while lying down is ensured by a slatted frame with additional disc springs. These also provide excellent ventilation and, in winter (for vehicles with auxiliary heating), a warm bed. The mattress itself, as always with SCA, is made of high-quality foam. The access hatch is closed with a slide-in module. The locking bracket is easy to operate and multifunctional – it can also be used as a clothes hanger or as a mount for lighting or a tablet/iPad. The extra-tall lifting struts allow you to sleep with your head either facing forward or backward. Your feet will also enjoy the added space. When the bed is folded up, you can comfortably stand upright inside the vehicle.
Locking System
The roof is equipped with the newly developed SCA Express Lock mechanism. In addition to improved design, it offers enhanced security and is easy to operate. When closing the roof shell, a practical folding mechanism automatically pulls the fabric bellows inward, preventing it from being pinched between the roof and the body.
On a Tight Budget?
