SCA presents new pop-up roof with electric parallel lifting system for the Mercedes Sprinter

With the new SCA roof model, SCA, a brand of the C.F. Maier Group, is launching another product innovation onto the market. The electrically operated pop-up roof for the Mercedes Sprinter with vehicle height H2 (from medium wheelbase) features a parallel lifting system, enabling to have more space in your vehicle.
The new model will make its debut from 13 to 21 January at CMT 2026 in Stuttgart, at the booth of Vagabond Vans in Hall 3, Stand A03. Market launch for partners and customers is planned for around mid-year.

New lifting mechanism for increased interior space

SCA is expanding its product portfolio with a pop-up roof featuring parallel elevation: on the new SCA roof, opening takes place simultaneously on both sides – in contrast to classic, single-sided scissor mechanisms.
This creates a feeling of significantly increased freedom of movement, noticeably enhancing the sense of space, and enabling a wide variety of possible activities in the sleeping area, as for example several people sitting upright and playing cards on a rainy day.
The electric mechanism can be conveniently operated at the push of a button – reliable, quiet and low-maintenance. “The goal of the development was to increase everyday comfort without compromising on functionality or design,” explains Sandra Petrovic, Head of Sales at SCA. “With this new SCA roof model, we have achieved this.

Well-engineered construction in proven SCA quality

As a further development of the popular 252 roof model, SCA remains true to its established design philosophy with the new electric parallel roof model.
The roof shell, manufactured using the industrial Resin Transfer Molding (RTM) process, is resistant to weather influences and, thanks to its sandwich construction, offers high thermal and acoustic insulation.
In combination with the high-quality foam mattress on a slatted bed base with disc springs, optimal sleeping comfort is ensured.
Standard equipment also includes a dimmable LED lighting system, allowing the lighting ambience in the roof area to be flexibly adjusted.
Generously sized window openings in the tent fabric provide views of the surrounding nature and, thanks to integrated mosquito nets, also offer protection against insects.

Premiere and availability

The public premiere of the new SCA roof model will take place in January 2026 at CMT in Stuttgart.
Visitors can experience the new roof model live at the booth of SCA partner Vagabond Vans (Hall 3, Stand A03).

The official market launch is scheduled for the second quarter of 2026. Pre-orders will be possible shortly and will be announced via the company’s communication channels.
