A solar panel on the pop-up roof may be the most important step to travel autonomously in the future – but one can truly benefit from it only if they also have the appropriate solar charge controller. The device captures the energy and then forwards it to the batteries, where it is stored. Victron SmartSolar not only maximizes energy harvesting but also directs it intelligently.
Extended Battery Life
The solar charge controller ensures balanced battery performance, thus extending its lifespan. SmartSolar even recharges heavily discharged batteries. It can operate with a battery voltage of only 0 volts, provided the cells are not permanently sulfated or otherwise damaged.
Intelligent Load Output
The 'Intelligent Load Output' function prevents damage caused by using empty batteries by configuring the voltage accordingly. The SmartSolar attempts to recharge the battery to 100% every day. If this is not possible due to bad weather, it raises the voltage value for disconnecting daily until it succeeds.
Ultra-fast Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT)
By continuously monitoring the voltage and current output of the solar (PV) modules, MPPT technology ensures that all available energy is drawn from and stored in the modules – especially when the sky is cloudy and the light intensity is constantly changing.
Remote Monitoring and Control
With integrated Bluetooth, the functions of SmartSolar can be controlled and monitored directly from the smartphone while on the go. Remote installation is also possible.
